If you read our blogs (thank you) or our newsletters (also thank you), you know we highlight child safety constantly.
Important to one and all, regulations came into force in 2014 regarding child safety and window coverings- 11yrs this year.
This week, the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) posted this update on their FaceBook page (please be aware this is an upsetting post).
Our industry body the British Blinds & Shutters Association (BBSA) were, and continue to be, instrumental in raising awareness on how to make window coverings as safe as possible- via our industry, their members and our customers.
We try to inform and advise as much as possible. Previous blogs here , here, and here are packed full of relevant information.

Having a family is hard work, and often tiring. As CAPT point out, when you’re tired and distracted, just take a moment to wind the blind cord out of the way.
Anything purchased from us for the last 11yrs has met all child safety criteria, but you may have older blinds, you may not realise what can happen.
Talk to us. We can help, advise, and offer free child safety devices- all to help make your window blinds that little bit safer.
Child Safety Week 2025 runs from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th June.
This years theme is Safety is for Sharing. In a world of misinformation, share the facts on child safety as far and wide as possible
