How Safe Are Your Blinds?

Today starts the annual Child Safety Week, organised by the Child Accident Prevention Trust.

We’ve done a previous blog on this subject, but making products safer for homes with infants and young children should always be a priority, and this week is a timely reminder of how to do so.

Child Safety Week

We have several leaflets detailing how our blinds are designed with safety in mind. We can post or email copies to you, if you are concerned.

We also strongly recommend, when shopping around, you visit the British Blind & Shutter Association website to find a recommended dealer, and resources to help with your decisions.

Regulations relating to looped cords on blinds (and curtain rails/ poles) changed back in 2014, so there is no excuse for a company to not discuss this with you or feign ignorance.

However, you may have shading that is older than 9yrs, and may not meet the criteria laid out back when they were introduced. Visit our website for suggestions for small changes that can make a big difference.

Never forget, if you have loose looped cords in your home, call in for a FREE p-clip to fix it to the wall.
