The continued weather conditions are making it difficult to sleep, rest or even sit quietly.
Here at Bespoke Blinds & Poles, we can offer advice on which product will help reduce the impact of light and heat in your home- especially bedrooms.
For example, the cellular nature of the Luxaflex Duette blind, traps heat in the fabric, and stops it reaching your room. It also reduces noise pollution, for those who are literally “up with the larks” at this time of year!
Simply replacing a basic roller blind with a dimout fabric will darken your room significantly at little extra cost.
However, for a quick fix, here are the main tips to follow:
1. Don’t open your curtains/ blinds in a morning! You need to keep the heat out, not let it in all day, then trap it in when you go to bed at night. Leave them closed. 2. Drink plenty of fluids, eat little and often Your body heats up the more you eat in one sitting. 3. Put a bowl of ice in front of a fan The fan will blow the cool air into the room, reducing the temperature. Then keep number 1 on repeat until the heat passes. 4. Go Natural Clothing, that is. Natural fibres, such as cotton and linen, allow your body heat to escape, and absorb moisture; the exact opposite applies to synthetic clothing.
There are plenty more tips out there, but these are all options which you can instigate now, at no extra expense.
